I really gotta stop looking at “What’s Happening” on Twitter

The positive side of me want’s to believe Microsoft is doing this to provide TikTok with a corporate ally in the United States.

However, given that an acquisition couldn’t possibly happen before November 3rd I suspect this is about data mining a popular platform, similar to what we’ve seen them do by absorbing LinkedIn and Lynda.com

The English Beat as they’re known here in the United States always makes me feel nostalgic. (also General Public).

Looks like they plan to perform with the Aquabats next July. I really can’t miss that. 😀

Vacationing in Xubuntu 20.04

I finally decided to install 20.04 and test it out for a few days. I forgot how much I enjoyed the simplicity of the XFCE desktop environment. The classic quake inspired drop down terminal always makes me smile.

If you’re interested in how to get the xfce4 terminal to work as a drop open keyboard shortcuts and add the following.

xfce4-terminal --drop-down

Then apply your favorite key combination, I like to use Ctrl + ` but you can pick whatever you like.
